A successful event was the 3rd Halkidiki Gastronomy Festival, TASTE HALKIDIKI FESTIVAL, which took place at the pedestrian zone of Polygyros at the Municipality of Polygyros in Halkidiki. The event is part of the program TASTE HALKIDIKI, which aims to promote the gastronomic richness of the area and is a project inspired and run by the the president Yannis Koufidis and the Governing Council of Halkidiki Chamber, which started in 2021.
At the pedestrian zone of Polygyros, local olive, olive oil, honey, pasta, wine, beer, spirits, dried nuts, black pork producers, from all over Halkidiki, presented their products to the visitors, who had the chance to get information about them. taste them but also buy the unique, local treasures of Halkidiki.
In the specially designed cooking area, chefs from famous local restaurants and women from local clubs, cooked live special dishes, with products from the exhibitors, based in local recipes. The recipes were presented by Kostis Zafirakis and the dishes were:
- Traditional Klikia, Voluntary Womens’ Group from Polygyros Development Community
- Chicken with grapes, Penelope Manssi, Exi Vrises
- Fish with potatoes and bianco sauce, Bilal Doca, Marigoula Wine-Restaurant
- Sfugato (omelette from Polygyros, Womens; Bonding and Entertainment Association
- Black Pork with blac olives and mushrooms, Yannis Adamiotis, Broken Cup & Representative of Culinary Professionals Greece
- Cream with brittle made with local ingredients, Kiriaki Andreadi, Sweet Garden Andreadi, Patisserie
The event attracted a lot of visitors from Polygyros and the local area who had the chance to taste the delicious dishes, with the assistance of the volunteers from Polygyros Womens’ Association, who supported the event. The special presentation of the live cooking and the producers by the famous journalist and presenter Kostis Zafirakis gave a special touch to the event.
Millennium Education Center was one of the sponsors of the event, who launched live the event in the venue and the social media, with their high level technology and specialized personnel. Doubia S.A. sponsored the water for the event. Communication sponsors of the event were ERT3 and the radio stations FM 102 and 95,8.
Taste Halkidiki Festival also visited the Parliament Member Ioannis Giorgos, the Councillor Mela Kyriakidou, the Member of the Executive Council of Municipality of Polygyros Christos Vordos, the President of Greece Hotel Association Grigoris Tasios and of course al lot of visitors. Korina Zolla Member of the Governing Council of Halkidiki Chamber also visited the event.
The event was organized by Chef Stories, a strategic associate of Halkidiki Chamber and all the events and actions of Taste Halkidiki.
